Colombia Cultural and Archeological

Day 1. Bogotá

Welcome and assistance at El Dorado International Airport. Transfer to the Hotel and check-in.

Day 2. Bogotá – City Tour

Panoramic tour through the historic center of Bogota, also called "La Candelaria”. The Gold Museum will be visited. There, are exhibited about 34,000 pre-Hispanic gold pieces and more than 25,000 pre-Columbian objects. Later, we will visit the Casa de la Moneda and the Botero Donation, where are exhibited artworks of Fernando Botero, an internationally recognized Colombian artist in painting, drawing, and sculpture. The tour will end with a panoramic tour by the Marco de la Plaza de Bolívar: The Cathedral, The House of Nariño (Presidency of Colombia), The Lievano Palace (Bogota´s Mayor hall) and The Palace of Justice. Ascent to Monserrate. To finish our journey with a sweet flavor of the city, we will taste a delicious and typical Ice of Paila (helado de Paila). Return to the hotel.

Duration: 7 horas

Day 3. Bogotá – San Agustín

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to El Dorado International Airport, to take flight to the city of Neiva (Not included). Reception at the airport of Neiva Benito Salas and transfer to San Agustín.

Day 4. San Agustín

Breakfast at the hotel. The tour through San Agustin Archaeological Park will begin by visiting the archaeological museum, la Fuente de Lavapatas (Lavapatas Fountain), ancient statues that make up the entire group and are connected by a path. Lunchtime. Visit to Alto de las Piedras, Alto de los Idolos, and Mortiño waterfall (230 m). Return to the hotel.

Day 5. San Agustín – Popayán

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from San Agustín to Popayán through the Purace National Natural Park in the Colombian Massif (source of 70% of the water consumed by the Colombian population). Transfer duration: 4 hours. Overnight in the city of Popayán.

Day 6. Popayán - Cali

Breakfast at the hotel. Early departure from Popayán to the Sylvia market, an indigenous market where we can observe ancestral customs, interact with the community, and buy handcrafts (the market opens only on Tuesdays). Free time for lunch (Not included). In the afternoon, transfer from Silvia to the city of Cali, well known for the outstanding salsa culture. Transfer duration approx. 2, 5 hours. Overnight in Cali.

Day 7 Cali – Coffee Landscape

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning, visit to the most representative sites of the city such as the San Antonio Church and the city view point, Monument to Sebastián de Belalcázar, “El Gato del Rio” Park, La Merced Church, Cathedral, Caycedo Square, the Government building, among others. The tour ends in one of the best salsa schools of the city, where you will have an hour of class with champion teachers in this genre. Lunch (Not included). In the afternoon, transfer by shuttle to the city of Armenia (Approximate Duration 3 Hours). Overnight in Armenia.

Duration: 08 Hours (shuttle transfer included)

Day 8 Coffee Landscape

Breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, we will start the journey to the Cocora Valley, upon arrival a great walk is done until reaching the Palm Forest where we can observe fauna and flora from the region. There, it is possible to see the highest wax palm in the world which is also the Colombian national tree. Free time for lunch (not included). Walking tour through the beautiful town of Salento, visiting its colonial streets. In order to continue with the tour, we will board a typical Jeep Willys car (from 2 people onwards) to go to El Ocaso coffee farm, where the interactive coffee process will take place. Return to the hotel.

Duration: 08 hours,

Day 09. Coffee farm and Coffe Cultural Landscape - Cartagena

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, transfer to El Eden International Airport, to take the flight (not included) to Cartagena (It is suggested to take the morning flight leaving around 09: 00 hr.). Arrival in Cartagena. Welcome and assistance at Rafael Núñez International Airport. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. Free time for Lunch (not included).

City tour in a private transport unit equipped with air conditioning, journey through the residential neighborhoods of Bocagrande, Castillo grande and Manga. Arrival at the Top of the Popa, where you will have a complete view of the city, guided visit to the convent and the church. Later on, visit to San Felipe de Barajas Castle, the most important military engineering work in Spain in America which protected the city from pirate attacks. At the end of this visit, return by the Santander Avenue from where the bastions and walls of the historic center can be observed. Visit to the craft center Las Bóvedas.

Duration: 04 hours.

Day 10. Cartagena

Breakfast at the hotel. This will be the ideal day for fishing and cooking native cuisine and to get in direct contact with the native population of the Afro-Cartagena fishermen's village. We will learn from them to assemble fishing nets and gears for crabs, then help to cook crabs in fishermen's house.

Duration: 07 hours,

Includes: Bilingual guide, private transportation, Typical Lunch (whatever you catch, crabs, fish or snails) everything is cooked in the house of the native fisherman, and Local medical assistance card.

Día 11. Cartagena

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Rafael Núñez International Airport. According to the scheduled, flight back to your city of origin.
